MancIron 12:51 - That's because a Squall line has just passed over Manchester area, It's moving N-S across the country, already been reports of embedded rotation with possible tornado threats.
There are several separate squall lines so there will be intense outbursts in random areas.

Made decision with oppo and ground to call the game off...fucking farcial... other leagues and local rugby called off as no way should you be playing in amber warnings weather but not our one. Unplayable out there at moment.

Played in a 0-0 game of rugby with those conditions sven. Our 3rd 15 were one short away at old beccahamians and I got drafted in (my home game was cancelled) 5 minutes before leaving for west ham v hull (the 7-1 steve potts game)
Played on the wing that day.
One half was rather busier than the other. Wind was so strong our fly half ended up passing to himself

Any word of the wind direction over the pitch?
Ideally it’s across the pitch .... Man City kick off and the ball flies into the stand. We spend 45mins throwing the ball onto the pitch and it blowing back off.
Another 45mins of the same and we scoot off with a well earned 0-0
Job done !

Game will be started. Hammers go 3-0 up in a dazzling display unlike any this season. City are on the ropes unable to get out of their own half.
On Police advice for crowd safety reasons, despite the weather noticeably improving Referee abandons game.
Hammers lose the replay 6-0.
It’s the West ham way.

We are due winds of 77mph tomorrow during our Sunday game... contacted the ref to test the water... he said he's never called a game off for high winds... should be a right fucking laugh !!
